During Black History Month, CCS will be donating to various charities and organizations dedicated to uplifting Black creators, creating safe and inclusive spaces, and dismantling racism.
This week, we are focusing on Black Girl Hockey Club. While not music related, hockey is a popular Canadian pastime that should be accessible and welcoming to everyone.
Black Girl Hockey Club is a nonprofit organization that “focuses on making hockey more inclusive for Black women, their family, friends and allies”. The organization provides education, scholarship opportunities and community spaces that will give Black women access to hockey. BGHC also created the “Get Uncomfortable” pledge that looks to disrupt racism on and off the ice and make hockey welcoming for everyone.
